Are you overweight? Or have you ever been overweight?
yes, i used to be very overweight in college and my friends and I joined Weight Watchers together. With eachother's support we were able to lose the weight of an entire person between the three of us. I lost 43 lbs over the course of 18 months and maintained it for about a year and felt the best I've ever felt in my life. In the past year or so I gained about 15 lbs back. I know I'm not fat but I just don't feel as good as i did at my lower weight. Now I yo-yo diet and i'm always up and down ten lbs. I just can't seem to keep myself under control! when i do go down a few pounds I feel like i can treat myself more...and I often over do it. I need to hold myself accountable for everything i eat and i'm hoping this site might help...
If you are overweight, what do you think is the reason FOR YOU?
I tend to eat my feelings. when i'm down, i eat. when i'm really happy about something, i eat to celebrate. It's always about food for me.
What do you think is the reason FOR OTHER OVERWEIGHT PEOPLE?
probably the same reasons as mine.
Are you on a diet at the moment?
I just started (again.)
What does diet mean for you?
a- Not to eat and starve myself.
b- Cutting the calories.
c- Cutting the calories plus increasing the exercise.
d- Getting all the things my body needs with less calories.
e- Getting all the things my body needs with less calories plus increasing the exercise.
f- Eating as usual but increasing the exercise.
g- Healthy life style.

Do you expect your diet to be successful, if so why? If not why?
I'm trying to be positive so I'll say yes. I really want to be successful this time. I know I'm the happiest when i feel good about myself and my weight.
Have you ever managed to lose weight, but then gain again? If yes, why and how did you get back some of the weight?
That's my story. I'm a yo-yo dieter.
If you have ever succeeded to achieve your diet goals, what is it that you`ve done right?
Disciplined myself. I often eat just to eat, not necessarily because I'm hungry. When I've been successful, it's because I've had the will power to tell myself no.
What are you observing in other dieters as mistakes?
trying to be too extreme and getting discouraged early on.
Please tell us some important mistakes you did in your diets. We can learn from them.
Weigh yourself often. That way, you can catch a 5 lb problem before it becomes a 20 lb problem.
How should your close ones treat you as a dieter? Should they better be quiet on the subject, or should they push you?
Quiet. Only you can determine the success of your diet and comments from the peanut gallery can cause resentment.
If you are living with others, how do you handle the problem of you having special diet meals while others have their usual meals?
I make my boyfriend diet too :-) It won't hurt him. Plus, I do the cooking so he can't really complain.
How do you cope with eating less? For some people it really hurts and is like hell. For some others, they enjoy the light feeling. How about you?
The first few days, I hate it and all I can think about is food. After that, I don't mind it. I even like it.
Could you warn us about some diet methods you got involved with that did not work?
low carb diets are the worst. They do work- don't get me wrong. But once you start eating carbs again, it's very easy to get carried away with it.

Weight Watchers worked for me... but it gets expensive.
Where do you stand on the subject of exercise?
